LIFE PATH

Born in Connecticut, USA, I discovered art therapy at the age of 16, when I first realized that traditional talk-therapy didn't always connect with my core being or soothe my soul. Since then, art has been a vital part of my journey through addiction, trauma, social activism, body image and identity challenges, anxiety, financial stress, and everything else life has thrown at me. These experiences deepened my empathy and compassion for others, and motivated me to become an art therapist. In 2013 I moved to the UK and have continued my art journey here, settling in my current space in 2017.

MY APPROACH

I approach my art therapy practice from a trauma-informed lens, working in a person-centred way that values all of who you are. When you first come in to therapy, we will take some time to get to know one another and approach the artmaking in a way that works for you. The pace of sessions differs for every client, and together we will explore creative thinking and artmaking.

My art therapy practice is a safe space for everyone. I welcome the LGBTQIA+ community, refugees and/or those with citizenship differences, people with disabilities, neurodiverse folks, and all human beings. You are wanted and worthy.

CREDENTIALS

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with an honours degree in Psychology, and subsequently received a distinction award when graduating with my Masters of Art Therapy from the University of Derby. Over the last 20 years I have attended (and facilitated) art therapy classes, workshops, conferences, and seminars with a concentration on trauma, addiction, personality disorders, identity, and relationships. I am a certified Zumba instructor, and have worked with various charitable organizations in the past. My personal daily art practice continues to be my greatest teacher.
